Councillor expresses 'concern' as West Cross Army Reserve Centre listed for sale

A local campaign group has sent a letter to Swansea Council saying a proposal for cycle tracks on Mayals Road is "unsafe".
The letter, from the Safe Mayals Road campaign group, highlights 10 areas that the group perceives as dangerous, including risks to pedestrians, vehicle drivers, residents exiting from their driveways, and bus passengers, including children going to school.

Cover to Cover bookshop has been shortlisted as a country finalist for an Independent Bookshop of the Year award.
The bookshop on Newton Road has been shortlisted for the award by The British Book Awards, or Nibbies, for a third year in a row.

Mumbles Community Council (MCC) received borrowing approval from the Welsh Government to progress the Go Underhill project.
MCC applied for a loan of £840,000 and approval was granted this morning.
A CABINET member has been repeatedly asked if correct processes were followed about controversial new cycle paths in the west of Swansea.
There has been vocal opposition to a new cycle route on Mayals Road, Mayals, and another one which runs up part of the nearby Clyne Valley and emerges at the top of Olchfa Lane, Killay.

Mumbles Community Council recently voted in favour of submitting an expression of interest for the council to take over the double tennis courts and toilet block site at Langland Bay from City & County of Swansea.
The current vision is to upgrade the public toilets, install new seating and provide new facilities for sports such as basketball, volleyball and paddle tennis, the community council said in a recent post. Plans would potentially include a yoga studio too.
