A search for a missing woman has continued after Coastguard rescue teams, including Mumbles Coastguard, were called to assist a search of coastal areas.

Dyfed-Powys Police has released an appeal in the search for Susan Smith, who was last seen at 1:30pm on Saturday 27 February walking in the Carmarthen Bay Holiday Village, Kidwelly area.

She is described as approximately 5ft 2 inches tall, petite with shoulder length blonde hair and believed to be wearing black jeans, a black fleece type jacket and navy and grey walking boots.

Mumbles Coastguard was paged in the early hours of Sunday morning to assist Dyfed-Powys Police with a search of coastal areas.

The Mumbles rescue team was paged along with teams from the Tenby, Llansteffan, Oxwich, and Burryport Coastguards, as well as a Coastguard rescue helicopter.

The rescue teams were stood down at 7am on Sunday.

Sergeant Jess Jones said: "We are currently conducting a search of the area with the assistance of H.M Coastguard, R.N.L.I and the Mountain Rescue Team.

"We have been made aware that someone was flying a drone in the area yesterday and we would ask that person to contact police as soon as possible."

Anyone who has seen Ms Smith or anyone who may have information that could help the search is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police.

Police can be contacted either online at http://orlo.uk/bE2Ht, by emailing [email protected], or by calling 101.
