The Gower Show will not go ahead this year, organisers have announced.

The Gower Agricultural Society said today that, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the show will not go ahead this year.

"After careful consideration and in response to the Covid – 19 Pandemic the Gower Show Directors have reviewed the situation," Show Director, Richard Furneaux, said in a statement.

"It's with a heavy heart and huge disappointment The Gower Agricultural Society has decided not to hold The Gower Show 2021," Mr Furneaux continued.

"Whilst this is disappointing for everyone, we are sure you will agree that the health & safety and wellbeing of our Members, Visitors & Exhibitors is paramount.

"We look forward to seeing you all in 2022 where we will continue to provide another fantastic agricultural show."

The agricultural event has been held since 1906, where the first show was held in the grounds of Penrice Castle. Its centennial show was held back in 2005.

The show would have celebrated its 103rd year in 2020 but was unable to go ahead due to the pandemic. Organisers had hoped to welcome people back this year.
