Occupying your family during half-term in lockdown can be difficult ¬– but one Mumbles family created their own socially-distanced activity for local children.
Charles Meaden and his family created a Valentine's Day scavenger hunt around Mumbles for children to complete with their families.
Mr Meaden's wife, Meagan Tudge, came up with the idea to give local children an activity to do during lockdown.
"We thought about it on Saturday morning and had it up by Sunday morning," Mr Meaden said.
"It was basically to give the local kids and families something to do."
The family left 12 laminated clues in a mile radius around Mumbles centre.
The clues included questions leading to different Mumbles landmarks – 'Where do the Normans and the White Lady hang out?' which led to Oystermouth Castle, for instance.
As participants made their way around the scavenger hunt, the clues would eventually take them to the Meaden family's house, where they could collect a prize – heart-shaped cookies baked by daughters Emily and Tess.
"All the kids who did it said they loved it, and the mums said it was great because it gave them something to do," Mr Meaden said.
"We all loved the look on the kids' faces."
Due to the bad weather on Sunday, the family decided to extend the scavenger hunt to Monday so more participants could join in.
The family created a similar scavenger hunt for Halloween and say that they are planning on making an Easter one this year.
Participants were also able to give donations for a family friends fundraiser. Eduardo Jesus is raising money for Save the Children by cycling 5,560 miles in 112 days – the equivalent of cycling from Wales to Brazil.
