Ship CottageInhabited since 1700's Ship Cottage is a beautiful home built in the traditional farmhouse style and boasting rich character and detail of the period, and a style, added by the current owner, that encapsulates the adventure of living in this exceptional location.

Historically the property was an Inn and tea rooms as well as a home.

The current owners took over the property in a dilapidated state and set about renovating the building with love and care; staying true to the traditional methods where beneficial to the essence of the property and incorporating modern and sustainable heating and insulation to create an efficient yet characterful home.

The property can be lived in as one home, but can also be split into the main house and a self contained annexe, both offering excellent space.

The accommodation comprises:The main house:Living Room, kitchen/family Room, Workshop, three double bedrooms (master ensuite), family bathroom.

The Annexe:Open plan living/kitchen/dining roomn, double bedrrom, shower room, roof terrace.

Externally Ship Cottage has its own gardens surrounding the house and of course Pwlldu Bay and Bishopston Valley beyond.

Pwlldu BayWith a history of smugglers to secret visits by u-boats, and crashing waves to ancient woodland, Pwlldu Bay has it all.

This sheletered bay lies on the south coast of Gower, designated an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956.

Due to its sheltered nature the bay is one of Gower's safest places to swim and offers excellent surf off the needles when the conditions are right.

It is a great place to set off in a Kayak heading West to Hunts Bay and Oxwich or East to Caswell, Langland and Mumbles.

The beach is sandy at low tide but is characterised by the bank of stones which make up most of the beach, said to be the balast stones from ships that used the natural harbour in days gone by.

The Coastal path passes through the bay.

Behind the beach is Bishopston Valley, an ancient woodland crisscrossed with paths and walks and the river which runs its length.

Access To Ship CottageThis property can only be accessed by a 4 X 4 Vehicle.

Accessed via a rough and steep track at the end of Pwlldu Lane, the track then crosses a ford before reaching the property.
